  • Small Business Bookkeeper

Why study a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping?

A Certificate IV in Bookkeeping prepares you to work in a range of industries in a variety of job roles. Whether you want to work in Australian small business as a part-time bookkeeper, or as a payroll officer for a large organisation, a Certificate IV shows employers that you’re prepared for the workforce, have passed compulsory tests like the tax practitioners board and prepares you for further study.

What you’ll learn

During this course, you’ll learn how to prepare financial reports, develop business documents, establish and maintain a payroll system and develop and implement bookkeeping-related policies and procedures.

How to Study

If you’re interested in completing your Certificate IV in bookkeeping, there are several education requirements and entry requirements that you need to meet, including basic literacy and numeracy.

Many RTO’s offers both part-time and full-time study options, as well as several start dates throughout the year, so there are lots of flexible learning options. Plus, with the prevalence of online learning, many students can complete their chosen course or training package from anywhere in Australia, including Melbourne and the Gold Coast (Although international students interested in enrolling in a course should enquire with CRICOS.) Many RTOs also offer recognition of prior learning (RPL), so if you’ve already worked in the industry or have completed the previous study, such as a Certificate III, a registered training organisation may take that into account.
