Completing a CPA course and becoming a member of CPA Australia will formalise your accounting qualification and show your credentials, and your credibility, to the world. Being a CPA also opens up doors that might have remained closed if you’d elected not to complete the CPA certification course. For example, your career could take a positive turn towards risk analysis for major Australian corporations, or you could become a key member of a strategic planning team at a global conglomerate.
If you don’t have the qualifications to become a full CPA, you can always become an Associate. Then, if you so choose, you can take courses that will promote you to full CPA membership.
There is no rule that says you have to become a CPA to make it in Australia’s competitive financial services market. Many non-CPA members have thriving careers as forensic accountants, strategic procurement managers and CFOs. However, leaping that last hurdle and completing the CPA certification course will give an edge; and who doesn’t need an edge?
